My Brother Themba

Two boys, Themba, mixed race, and Alex, white, grow up during the cruelty of Apartheid during the turbulent 1970s and 1980s in South Africa.  This harsh environment places restrictions and hardships and their, and their families' lives.  The macro-environment sweeps the characters along against their will.

The bonds of brotherhood formed during their early childhood, are unbreakable despite the obstacles Apartheid places in their path.  The violence inflicted on communities is heartbreaking.  Our protagonists negotiate, hide, subvert, and attempt to overcome Apartheid in order to maintain their bond.  

This breathtaking journey through childhood to adulthood, will keep you on the edge of your seat, drawning you to keep reading chapter after chapter, willing the boys to succeed.
