Vishesh Tayal took an unconventional path to writing. He studied petroleum engineering, spent twelve years in analytics, and left the corporate world in 2023 to pursue his dream of writing historical novels. A childhood fascination with history and geography and an early ambition to become an archaeologist stayed with him. Even in analytics, he focused on narrative, turning data into stories through structure, visuals, and logic. Now he brings the same clarity to battles, councils, maps, and monarchs.

A lifelong reader and Age of Empires enthusiast, he has spent countless hours exploring fantasy and period dramas. These passions led him to the overlooked histories of early medieval India. The Flame of Sindh is his debut novel and the first in a five part series, The Dharma Shield: Guardians of Bharatvarsha. Vishesh lives in Pune with his wife Palak and their dog Pixie.
