About
Subhashree Giridhar is a traditionally published children’s fiction author writing for middle grade and upper middle grade readers. Her work spans reality fiction and mystery thrillers, with a strong grounding in Indian culture, social realities, and emotionally nuanced storytelling. She looks for crafting stories that foster deep thinking and connection among readers.
Her book is an anthology of three stories and her story titled "Manicure in Mundirikuppam” was published in Regional Stories of India, by Scholastic and explores manual labour, health, and human vulnerability in contemporary India. The work received wide attention, and Dr. Kiran Bedi encouraged her to continue writing culturally rooted narratives. Manicure In mudirikuppam" got selected as a syllabus for BA. English Litrature at the New College - afflaited to University of Madras.
Deeply influenced by Sangam Tamil literature, Subhashree has written lyrics and dialogues for the Tamil audio drama Panchali Sabadham and authored Shripuranam, a Bharatanatyam dance drama. She holds a B.Com degree and a in execute Banking Management from LIBA, and has previously worked at HCL, and later as a research associate at IIT Madras.
She is currently working on a middle-grade autistic mystery thriller and an environmental fantasy novel centred on rainforest conservation.
