Mariss (1969) was born in Kotor, in the Dalmatian fjord of Boka Kotorska. Mariss is from Tivat and Bogdašići (Boka Kotorska) and also from Trakošćan and Ivanec (Hrvatsko Zagorje).
In Zagreb, finished Classical Elementary, Gymnasium for Classical Languages, and the High School of Music, obtained the title of Professor of Comparative Literature and Philosophy, graduated from Librarianship, and passed the State Professional Exam of the Republic of Croatia.
The University of Zagreb scholarship holder attended the ISS the University of Oslo (1994) and the International University Scientific Seminars on Old Norse Literature and Mythology, as well as the Contemporary Swedish Literature Seminar at IUC Dubrovnik (1996-2000).
During 1994 - 2018 Mariss has published Poems for Adults and Children and Stories for Adults and Children in Croatian Literary Magazines (Zagreb).
During 2017 - 2022 Mariss has been publishing in Literary Magazines in Montenegro (Cetinje), during 2018 - 2024 in the Literary Magazines of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mostar).

Mariss was a TV Screenwriter for TV Programme for the Children and youth of the State Croatian Radio and Television.
Mariss retold fairy tales in the picture book for Children at publisher Miropictures Zagreb with Hungarian illustrator Mihaly Kanzel.
