About
Hello everyone. I retired to North Staffordshire in 2016 and, since then, have written 7 books, all based on true, historical events, mostly set in Staffordshire, but my latest book, "A Llanrwst Christmas, Not Worth Dying For", is about a true-life murder that happened in Llanrwst, North Wales, in 1937. I had written a memoir and two short detective stories before retiring. I thoroughly research all of the true history in my books, which is something I enjoy doing. For the Llanrwst murder, I took the train to Kew Archives in London, where I was presented with four boxes of information about the Llanrwst murder. I returned with hundreds of photos relating to the case, including the court transcripts, police statements, newspaper cuttings, photos and letters, so I had a task before more, reading through all of the information and trying to make it into a story, as you can imagine. All of my books are available on Amazon as paperbacks or ebooks.
I did a talk about the Llanrwst Christmas on 5 December 2025, in Llanrwst, complete with a projector and screen, plus recordings kindly made by local people from extracts of the book, which I played at the talk. The talk went down well with people queuing afterwards to get their books signed, copies of which were included in the price of the ticket. I do talks about my books, on a fairly regular basis.
I also design the book covers, some of which I have painted myself. A few of my paintings and details about my books can be viewed on https://maggiemoxom.artweb.com - so look me up please, and I hope you enjoy reading my books.
