Author Avalon Brown is an author from Newark, NJ. Avalon has written numerous children books using her grandchildren as characters. These books will serve as her legacy for her family. Avalon has also written a spiritual poetry book, a bibliography of her father life as a bishop, two memoirs, and several nursing guides. Avalon is also a co-author of nine anthologies, including two of her own anthologies.

In addition to Avalon being an author, Avalon has over 43 years of experience in nursing. With eighteen years on the GI/GU post-op surgical floor and twenty years of dialysis experience, she held multiple titles. Charge nurse, anemia manager, infection control nurse, transplant designee, vascular nurse, and three years as a clinical manager. She has also worked in home care for three years. Avalon recently worked as an infection control preventionist for 3 1/2 years. After working for over four decades, Avalon retired in April 2023 and continues to write as a full-time author. Avalon earned her LPN from Essex County Tech in Newark, NJ, her ASN from Essex County College in Newark, and her BSN from Regis University in Colorado. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the Professional Organization for Women of Excellence.
